June 2, 2018 - Traverse City, MI

We invite you to celebrate with us.

Unless it's mad, passionate, extraordinary love, it's a waste of your time.
There are too many mediocre things in life.
Love shouldn't be one of them.

June 1-2, 2018 Traverse City, MI

At the firepit
Pull up a chair and share some stories of adventures you've been on, of Abbey and Jeff, and of places you want to go. Part of our culture is sharing stories and having great conversations around the open fire when we camp and we look forward to sharing that with you.
The Wild North
Adventure is important to us and so is taking advantage of being "Up North" in Michigan. Abbey and Jeff will be leading a hike through some of our favorite trails in nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, known best for tall sand dunes, forests, and spectacular views of Lake Michigan. Other activity options include mountain biking trails of Timber Ridge, a game of golf, or exploring the nearby wineries, breweries, beaches and town of Traverse City. There's even an 1800s castle-like mental asylum to visit for those so inclined.
Timber Ridge Campground
After returning from adventures, pull a drink out of the cooler and enjoy a few Games in the Garden before dinner. We plan to have great Michigan games such as bags (cornhole), fowling, and frisbeener.
Timber Ridge Campground
We weren't kidding when we said we would be preparing food! Get ready to enjoy an informal dinner with some of our favorite selections of food from the grill. No, we're not serving hot dogs and potato salad!
Timber Ridge Campground
We will join together in a small ceremony of celebration.
Timber Ridge Campground
There will be music and dancing, of course!

Of Serendipitous Meeting

Our Story

The only problem was that we were both seeing other people at the time.

  • A Wine Party

    January 2015

The conversation began at a wine party, hosted by Jeff. Prompted by a GIANT coffee table book consisting of photography from across the globe, we shared conversation of previous adventures and aspirations on where to go next. At the end of the night, we parted our ways.

  • A First Date

    August 2016

The conversation continued when Jeff asked Abbey out on a date she couldn't refuse: Live storytelling at The Moth in Ann Arbor followed by dinner on a patio. This moment evolved into what some may call an addiction for intriguing conversation, lifelong friendship, and adventure. The cultural dynamic was set almost immediately when Abbey asked Jeff to join her for a weekend in the woods. We turned our 2015 conversation into a reality filled with camping, outdoor cooking, and conversations that only the natural environment can shape.

  • An Engagement

    May 2017

Our crave for travel took us out west to Arizona. Jeff was looking to keep Abbey around, leading us on the hunt for a unique gem. We made a ring of it. Our love for camping took us up to Harrisville State Park in Northern Michigan. After a late night walk on the Lake Huron shoreline and getting chased off the beach for starting fires, we ran through the campground towards our site where Jeff stopped Abbey and proposed.

Our Registry

Just kidding! We don't have a registry. Jeff and Abbey value strengthening community and positive worldwide change. We ask that you consider giving back and impacting locally and abroad through either the Ann Arbor YMCA or Against Malaria Foundation. If you feel strongly about gifting to us instead, please do.

The Ann Arbor YMCA

Abbey is passionate about the Y. The Ann Arbor Y works to strengthen community through positive youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Equipped with cause-driven staff and volunteers, the Ann Arbor Y leads with empathy to promote an inclusive organizational culture that values all dimensions of diversity, strengthens inclusion, and builds global community in the U.S. and abroad. All donations to the Ann Arbor Y go directly towards ensuring access to programs that allow community members to be their best selves.

Against Malaria Foundation

Jeff is passionate about preventing malaria. According to UNICEF, the largest killer of children is Malaria. Malaria kills one child every 30 seconds, about 3000 children every day. Over one million people die from malaria each year, mostly children under five years of age, with 90 per cent of malaria cases occurring in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Against Malaria Foundation is rated as one of the most highly effective charities by GiveWell and The Life You Can Save. 100% of donations buy long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) that protect people from malaria. A US$2.50 net protects two people.

Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) works to prevent the spread of malaria by distributing long-lasting, insecticide-treated mosquito nets to susceptible populations in developing countries. AMF has been active in 36 countries in Africa, Asia and South America, with a particular focus on sub-Saharan Africa.

Let's see which one can get the most donations!
